I think the most important part was when Beowulf killed Grendel and then everybody left him and he proved them wrong. Something important that is in the reading is god. Beowulf gives all his credit to god. They use different names for god every time they mention him.

I agree with you. This was one of the best I have read so far. He does give praise and gratitude to the Lord so muxh throught out the story. I do like how it occurs so much they change his name to keep you on your toes, but yet still showing greatness in God. This showing of what he does is very hard to find in people which is humble. Most people that were blessed how we was wouldn't use in a good way.

I agree with Shelby. Beowulf does give all the credit to god, because he believes that without god he wouldn't be able to fight Grendal the way he does. They do call god different things every time that they mention him, and I think that they do this to keep you thinking about who he is. And he does prove all of the other people wrong by defeating Grendal and nobody else did.

I believe that Beowulf bringing back Grendals head and the hilt is the most important thing in the epic. It is located in stanza 3 of episode 8. I will quit this line from the story: "though he saw many, except for the head and the hilt decorated with treasure." I think this is very important because it shows that Beowulf wants to show what he had accomplished. He didn't want the treasure, he wants the fame of him completeing that great kill.

I think the most important part of the epic is when Beowulf finally gets Grendel. Grendel is a monster that liked to kill because he was jealous of the warriors being normal & forgetting about war. When Beowulf finally get Grendel, I think it's a big day for him. He got the monster that killed his warriors. I don't know the exact line when Beowulf gets him, but I think it was very important

The thing thought was the most important part in the reading was when. The Danes thought that beawulf was dead so they just gave up and went home. The Geats were brave and they were standing their ground and waited for them to come and fight.

I think the most important part of the story is probably when Grendel came out of the cave with the head and the sword. Part of the sword was melted because of the blood from 's head was toxic. Beowulf gave the hilt to hrothghar. Good thing he found that sword Jesus guided to him!

The most importen part of an epic is the characters. Because it is the characters that dose the action in the story. If you take away the characters the who makes up the story.

I think the most important would have to be the death of Grendel. After killing a monster that has terroized people and made people cower in fear that's a big thing. Beowulf shows almightful power he is by coming back with the head and people truly respect him as a hero. Then lastly he gives all praise to the Lord which is good because he is very humble and hard to find Heroes or people alike.

The most important part was whe Beowulf sleighed Grendels mother the "Troll Wife". I think this because Beowulf not only proved every one wrong by making it out alive. He also avenged Hrothgars best friend and warriors death. And Beowulf could have took the treasure down there but he didn't cause all he wants is glory.

i think the most important part of it was when Beowulf killed grendals mom and took her head back to his people. then he thaned God for what he has done. if he wouldnt have done that, then the epic hero wouldnt of had that epic characteristic. thats why i think that is the most important part of the poem.

I believe that Beowulf bringing back grendels head and the sword. That was the only treasure he wanted to bring back other than all that gold." It took four men to bear the spear shaft with Grendel's head to the gold hall."( This reminded me of how big grendels head was.) Beowulf was happy and felt brave. He had defeated his enemy and brought back the treasure that had the greatest value to him

In my opinion, the most important part of this epic was when Hrunting failed Beowulf. It showed that him trying to use a weapon tainted with sin was not allowed by God because he was so blessed. God wanted to help him and show that hewill help him until the end, and trying to use the sword was kind of like going against him in a way so God made Hrunting fail him to show this.

I agree, this was a very crucial part of the story. Although, I think that when all of his warriors didn't have faith in him was also extreamly important. It showed who really believed in him, and who didn't. I think this will eventually affect how he looks upon his warriors.

I think one of the most important parts of episode 8 is when Beowulf goes into the swamp, and the Danes gave up hope for him and left. This shows that they weren't very loyal at all, they could have had more faith in him than what they did. The greats, however stuck around a little longer, not really expecting but hoping Beowulf would come up. I feel like they did the respectful thing, especially since he went in there to defend them.

Grendels mother was slained and Beowulf walked out alive. Beowulf has so much honor for himself and the people around him that the only thing that he left with when he walked out was the hilt of the sword and the trolls wife's head. The reason why he has honor is caus that there was gold and treasure that he could have kept for hi self,

I agree with you an the scene. But you seemed to have misunderstood the text. they walked out of the cave with grendels head on the spear shaft it weighed so much it took four men to carry it. But you were right about him having honor for leving the gold because he did not care about wealth only fame.

i think one of the best parts of the epic was in stanza 3 of episode 8. Beowulf Came out of the cave with Grendels head and the hilt of the blade. There was only the hilt of the blade because Grendels blood was so tainted and so evil/toxic it melted the blade of the sword. This was great because he cleansed the world of a great evil.

He did his jobs. He left. If he didn't kill them then it wouldn't be nearly as interesting. That's why that is the most important part of the story.

"The monster strove to escape. Beowulf stepped closer. That famous monster suddenly wanted to disappear into the fens." The most important scene, in my oppinion, was the fight with Grendal. The characters in this scene were just Grendel and Beowulf. Beowulf had come to defeat the menace, Grendel, because he had heard of him and accepted the challenge. The epic characteristic was that Beowulf fought alone.
